Karlee Updates

I have been really bad with posting Karlee's updates (for journal reasons) so this post will hopefully make up for the lack of recorded information. We took Karlee into see her pediatrician a couple weeks ago for her 15 month shots. While there they weighed and measured her. Karlee weighs a whopping 19lbs 14 oz (3%), she is 31.5 inches long (75-90%). Seriously that girl doesn't gain any weight (I wish we could swap places). Her doctor said that she is healthy and isn't concerned about her weight, he credits that to her height. Like I said while there she got 3 more shots, poor girl. Looks like she is almost done with all her shots, at least for awhile.

Some more Karlee Updates are:
  • Almost 17 months old come July.
  • Talking more and more: Thank you (tank-u), baby, hellooo, Hi, shhhh..., belly button, and Bye Bye with the hand wave,
  • She loves to fold her arms and pray. She giggles when everyone says "Amen".
  • Loves watching and playing with other kids.
  • Climbs onto everything - safe or not!
  • Enjoys book time, her favorite book is "Bubbles with Elmo".
  • Has 12 teeth, with her canines coming in slowly - Ouch!
  • Her light brown hair is still coming in (slowly), but we are hopeful.
  • Loves to hangout in her daddy's truck.
  • Nope NOT walking. (she will when she is good and ready) She does love to walk while holding someones hand for extra balance.
  • Loves shoes already!!! (my girl!)
  • Enjoys the pool life, and bath time.
  • Continues to enjoy her 2 naps a day. (as does mom!)
  • Loves to spend time outside during cooler part of the days.
  • Wears 18-24month clothes, her pants definately must be 18mo (for the length)
  • Favorite foods: Foot Loops, Cheerios, Hot dogs, Cheese, and Anything/Everything her daddy is eating.
  • Shows you her belly button, nose, teeth, and ears.

Karlee really is such a sweet little girl. We can't believe how fast these past 17 months have gone. She makes us smile everyday, and is such a blessing to our family.

Hooray!!!

Okay so if you have see Rob within the last 6-12 months you have probably seen him in his beloved SUU hat. He doesn't leave home without it, unfortunately, most of the time. It no longer is the beautiful red color that is was, when purchased 5 years ago. Yes! 5 years ago - when Rob graduated from college. What is it with guys and their ball caps? I mean seriously. I have been trying for months to get Rob to buy another hat. He said he didn't need a new hat, that his hat had character and that he wasn't ready to give it up. Really?? That hat has character for sure, I am surprised that it hasn't grown legs and walked away. This past week, as we were returning from yet another trip up north, I talked him into stopping at Cedar City to buy a new ball cap. And so here she is, the new SUU hat. Isn't she beautiful. It is unbelievable that the old hat was this same color red at one time. Rob is truly in love with his SUU hats, he won't let me get rid of the old one now. He says that he will still wear it - seriously? Oh well . . . .

What we did last week.

Last weekend we were up north and on our way home with picked up our 6 year old niece Paige, and brought her home with us to spend the week. As we rode in the car, we got our list ready for the fun things that we would do during the week. I am happy to say that we were able to accomplish all and even a few surprises. Top of the list was to play with her cousin Karlee, and to go to the pool/splash parks. Easy enough! and so that is exactly what we did.
.

Tuesday - We didn't waste anytime getting started, when we got into town we headed to the theatre to watch Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Cute movie - Thanks Rob for the movie! The rest of the week was full of lots of activities. We went to the city park. Let me just say that Karlee had a great time. When Karlee starts to walk she is going to really love days at the park.

Side note: When we got to the park, Paige read a sign that said: No Pets Allowed!
paige: What No Pets Allowed? Like dogs?
me: Yep, No Pets Allowed, like dogs.
paige: So what about someone's pet fish.
me: Oh, ya that probably means pet fish too.

So funny. I had to just laugh.

Wednesday - Wednesday we went to a tour of Brigham Young's Winter Home. I just love walking through homes that have been restored to look to the Period. Paige thought the home was something spectacular as well. She was pretty interested in the cotton plants that they currently grow on the grounds.

After touring Brigham Young's Winter home we made our way to the Splash Parks. Paige thought this was heaven. She had so much fun, so we stayed for quite awhile.

Looks relaxing, doesn't it.

Thursday - We went and watched Disney's Up at the theatre. Such a cute movie, we loved it. We really love that Rob works at the movie theatre part-time so we got to go for FREE. Hooray!! Thanks. After the movie we stopped by the store for strawberries, and when we got home we made Homemade Strawberry Freezer Jam. Yumm -O !!!

Friday - We spent the whole day at our neighborhood pool. The weather was beautiful. Karlee and Paige had so much fun. It was kinda hard to pull them away from the pool, when it was time to leave.

Our bathing beauty!
Paige lived in the water while here.

Friday night I surprised Paige with tickets to Tuachan's production of Annie. Paige had not ever seen Annie, and fell in love with it. Tuachan is such an amazing place and a fun treat. Paige was at the edge of her seat throughout the whole production, so cute to see. After the production was over we were walking out and saw Annie, so we ran over and Paige got a picture with her. (Paige was pretty thrilled about this)

(Little fuzzy, but glad we captured this)

(Paige's smile is Priceless!!!)

Saturday - We had a good time on Saturday. We went "out to lunch" (subway) and then came home. Later in the evening we made and frosted sugar cookies in celebration of Father's Day. Paige did an excellent job, frosting and came up with the idea of putting an "F" on the cookie, for fathers of course.

Sunday - Sunday we packed into the car once again, our fun week was over. It was time for Paige to go home to her family, who love her. We drove up to Bear Valley turn off and met up with my brother and his family, and they Paige the rest of the way.

Thanks Paige for such a fun week, we all had so much fun. We will miss you. Our family will miss you. Karlee will miss playing with her cousin.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the most wonderful man in our lives. Rob is such an amazing dad. This picture pretty much says it all. He is definitely the player in our house. Karlee is definitely in love with her daddy. She is so excited every morning to go and wake her daddy up, and Rob is so good with her, as he lets her crawl all over her and smother him. Karlee and I are truly the two luckiest girls in the world to have Rob in our family. Rob is such a hard worker, and a perfectionist at what he does. Happy Father's Day Rob. We LOVE you!

To my dad - Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to my dad, who is an amazing example to me and my family. My dad has taught me so many things in my life, and I am so grateful. He is a teacher by trade, but his true teaching moments come through his example and by the way he lives his life. He is a man of few words, and a huge heart. Thank you dad for all you have taught me, and for being the best example of following our Savior and his teachings.

Who gave this girl cheese?

So this is happened a little while ago, but had to post it. Karlee loves CHEESE, and loves her new shoes, I guess so much that she wanted them to go together. What a wonderful mess that was to scrape out.
----
Still not sure how she got her shoe off and onto her high chair. She is a little smartie.
