Totally worn out.

I was trying to go through my pictures and clean up my computer a bit. Found this picture. I Loved it. We have been playing alot lately apparently. Karlee sat down to watch a show and then just within 5 minutes she was out like a light. Wow can't believe how fast she is growing up. Kinda makes me sad, oh well thats life, right!

"Where did you get that?"

For the past week or so I have been asked this question: "Mom, Where did you get your ___?". Karlee has really started to surprise me with her speaking and her vocabulary. So I knew that the time was coming near that we would start getting the comical "why" questions, but Karlee has really thrown me off with the "Where did you get your ___?" questions. There really have been some funny ones. She will ask me at home, while we are in the car, while playing outside, and often times they are just randomly thrown out there.

Here are some of my favorites:

Where did you get your nose?
my answer: From my mom.
Karlee: From your MOM!! - Oh that's nice. (expressed with so much enthusiasm)

Where did you get your shoes?

my answer: From the store.
Karlee: From the STORE!!! - Oh I love the store.

Then Karlee will turn the question around...

Where did I get my eyes?
my answer: From your mom.
Karlee: From my MOM! - Oh thank you mom for my eyes!

Where did I get my crackers?
my answer: From the store.
Karlee: From the STORE! - Oh I LOVE my crackers from the store.

I am sure that we will still be getting the "Why?" questions, but for now we are enjoying the "Where did you get ______?" questions.

Hide and Seek

Lately Karlee has found a new game. Not new to me, however new to her, Karlee has figured out how to play "Hide and Seek". She is so fun to play this game with. Our first game went like this... I was the counter and Karlee was the hider. I started counting to ten, then went to seek her. Karlee was standing in the hallway with her face towards the wall and her hands over her eyes. I had to hold my laughter. I walked past her and started calling out "Where is Karlee", "Where do you think she is hiding?", "Wow Karlee is a good hider." Then Karlee yelled out. Mom I am right here!. Too funny. Our next game I was the hider and Karlee was the counter. I decided to hide in the covers of the unmade bed. Karlee came to find me, when she saw the big lump in the bed (me). She started laughing really loud and said, "Mom - I found you I found you!!!"

Hide and Seek is a game that we have been playing on a daily basis for the past week or so. Karlee is getting better at hiding and does a pretty good job. She has stumped her daddy a couple times. Rob will come to me and say - I have looked everywhere and I still can't find her. I tell him her favorite spots and then he can usually find her, and unless she has waited long enough and just wants to be found. Too funny!

Puzzles...Puzzles...Puzzles

While my parents were up here for a few days (a couple weeks ago), my mom pulled out a puzzles for the kids to play with. Karlee (who has never put a puzzle together) really showed some interest. It didn't take her long to grasp the concept, and she was hooked. She loved to put the puzzles pieces together. I helped her put the puzzle together the first couple times, and then she was on her own. She could recognize the pieces and loved make the pieces match up.

We have since found a couple puzzles here and there. Our most recent puzzle I got at the dollar store. I caved in with this puzzle as it was a SpongeBob and Patrick puzzle. (I am not a huge fan of SpongeBob, but Karlee LOVES him - thank you Rob!)

Week long toothache

Woke up Monday morning with a small toothache. I chalked it up to the fact that I had just gone in a couple days before with a little pain with a couple teeth. They looked at them and determined that the fillings (that they had put in 6 months ago) were too high, and so my bite was off - thus causing the pain. So they drilled the fillings down so that my bite would be even. I know, I know I should have gone in long before now, but I just push through the pain. Just a side note: Ever since I got the cavities fixed, 6 months ago, I have not been able to drink cold water, each raw veggies, and well pretty much chew anything hard. Ya I know I know!!!

So anyways. On Monday I woke with a small toothache, that I had just hoped would go away. by Monday night it was not going anywhere, that night I think I probably got 2-3 hours of sleep. This was a first for me as I have never had tooth pain that would not allow me to sleep. It was awful. I went back into the dentist the next day. They checked another tooth and again determined that the filling was too high, so they drilled the filling down. I thought okay I can push through this pain and I will be better tomorrow. At this time, I was basically on a liquid diet, because the thought of chewing anything was horrifying.

No such luck. I was in so much pain the next two days that again I was unable to sleep at night, I had developed an earache, and my sinus cavity felt as thought it would burst! I know AMAZING, right! So I called and went back into see the dentist. 30 minutes before I had my appointment my toothache stopped - but I still went to the appointment. The dentist said that the only thing that he could determined was that I would probably need a root canal if the pain came back. UGH!!! I had to get a root canal 6 months ago, and well I was just not excited about it. I was however ready to do anything to get this pain to stop.

By the end of the week, my tooth was still somewhat sensitive and sore, but all the other affects that I was experiencing earlier were gone. So I decided that I would hold off on that wonderful idea of a root canal, until the pain returns again and I hope that it never does. So I am so very happy to say that I am able to drink cold water, chew and eat raw veggies. What a happy life! I now (through this experience) have a new respect for people who have so many problems with their teeth, and tooth pain. So not FUN.

St. Patricks Day - Lame mom award!

I had such high hopes for making St. Patrick's day fun at our home this year. I just failed in the planning and the execution of the high hopes. I am going to use the excuse that I was not feeling well, with my obnoxious toothache that i was dealing with for almost a whole week. So just the thought of doing anything was too much for me. We did wear Green, however failed to capture that on my camera. Not shocked I know!

I did make green waffles, however with my toothache I couldn't eat them. Karlee looked at them and said, hum... no thanks, I want eggs. So Karlee had eggs for breakfast, and i wanted her to actually eat them so I didn't turn them green.

I had ideas of making a trap to catch the leprechauns, and getting gold chocolate coins, and leaving them around the house so that Karlee could look for them. None of this happened so I am giving myself the "Lame Mom Award" - ya I think I totally earned it. I hope next year that I am more on top of the high hoped that faded away this year.

Trying to keeping busy. . .

I have really been missing the warm sun. So I have been trying to think of things to do indoors to pass the time until the sun wants to come and stay. My friend Jen and I whipped these cute hair clips out one afternoon. Here are some of the clips that turned out. I have been wearing them in my hair, and have gotten some compliments. (which has been kinda fun.)
