Weekend at Bear Lake

We LOVE Bear Lake!

We went up this past weekend and it was so much fun. We planned on relaxing and we were very successful. haha. Saturday we went to the north shore of the lake and spent a few hours playing in the sun and water.

Rob and Karlee played hard. They had so much fun building sand castles. Their hard work was worth it - just look at the masterpiece.

This girl loves the water.

We had so much fun this weekend and can't wait to come back and enjoy more of this beautiful place.

Swimming Lessons - Level 1

Summer wouldn't be summer without Swimming lessons. Swimming lessons didn't start out exactly as we had planned. Karlee was super excited to get in the water, but once we got to the pool she had changed her mind. It took 20 minutes to convince her she was there to get in the pool and learn to swim.

Love to see this girl smile. She loved swimming lessons - once she got into the water. She came up with almost every excuse in the book not to get into the water. It was all nerves but once she was in the water she was having fun!

This pictures makes me laugh... Always one day the kids get to go off the diving board. A lot of kids were brave and went off the board alone and others were helped down with the help of their teachers. Karlee was so proud of herself that she went off the diving board - even with the help of her teachers. Small victories - We celebrate them all. haha

We loved having the last hour of swim lessons because we stayed after and ate a picnic lunch with Karlee's cousins. After our picnic lunch we spent the day at the pool. The kids loved it and so did I.  I love the two weeks of swim lessons - its a good way to relax and enjoy some warm sun.

Here's Karlee with her cousins (and neighbor friend - Jordan) on their last day of swim lessons. Karlee passed her level 1 swim lessons. Yahoo!!!!

I don't know if it is just the summer time and everyone likes change in the summer, so it was time for a hair cut. Its been years since I have had long hair so I decided to cut it and donate it to Locks of Love. I had 14 inches cut this time. Here are are two pictures (before and after).

Now I just need to send off my hair to Locks of Love! I am excited that I was able to help someone who will get some use out of my hair.

Sugar Cookies for Father's day

Karlee had been begging to make cookies all week long. So with Father's day coming up we thought it would be a perfect way to share all the cookies.

Karlee loved helping to make the dough - especially the eating the dough - yummy!

Karlee did awesome cutting out the cookies using some cute cookie cutters - Butterflies - Hearts - "K".

Karlee loved frosting the cookies. She picked the colors and the sprinkles to use.  We shared these cookies with my sister and her family and to Rob's dad for Father's day. They look so yummy!

Here are the cookies Karlee decorated. Such a good job!

Honey Bee - Beekeeper Summer Field Trip

We went on another fun summer field trip, this week we went to listen to a Beekeeper. He talked a lot about honey bee's and learned lots of new things, none of which I can think of now. haha.

Group of  kids - love Karlee's smile, too cute!
He had honey for all the kids to taste. Karlee really wasn't crazy about it. Kerrian Halling and her two cute kiddos were there. Karlee had fun hanging out with Brooklyn even for just a short bit.

The beekeeper brought out a honeycomb for everyone to see and then he took everyone out (who wanted to) to see the bee hives. To watch the bees making honey. Karlee surprised me and actually went out to the hive - such a brave little one.

Seven Peaks with the Kennedys

Its summertime and that means its time for Seven Peaks! This year Monica and her family got the 'Pass of All Passes' so Monica and I took the kids to Seven Peaks for the day. It was so much fun as Karlee had someone to play with other than mom and dad. The water park was pretty busy but we figured it was the beginning of summer.

Karlee and Sadie had a lot of fun. Sadie was a bit more brave than Karlee and actually went down the slides in the 'kiddie' pool. haha. But really nothing out of the expected for our Karlee (she's kinda our 'safe sally').

Karlee and Paige chillin in the pool.
Good thing we've got these passes - hope to enjoy much of the summer here at Seven Peaks!

Lucky Karlee got her mom into the water!

Blanket Forts x 2

Blanket Fort x2 - Karlee Style...

After church Karlee surprised us with making her a blanket fort. We didn't even know she knew what she was doing. haha. She did AWESOME and built it all on her own. She was so proud! She played all afternoon!!!

We set up a movie in her fort and she enjoyed some popcorn and good company with all her 'stuffed' friends.

She begged for Rob and I to sleep with her in her fort. It just wasn't big enough for us but Rob promised that later in the week he would make a fort for all of us to enjoy. Karlee loved sleeping in the fort. I loved that even though the fort was up for 2 days we actually had space to leave it up.

Karlee enjoying her restful night in her fort.

Blanket Fort x2 - Family Style...

We have been in blanket fort mode lately so last night we pulled out the blankets as promised. Karlee and Rob got to work building a fort that we all could enjoy. We watched a fun movie, enjoyed popcorn and each other's company.

I hate to admit it, but I think Rob and Karlee were the only two that made it through the night in the fort. haha.

Wild West Playground Fun

Wild West Jordan Playground - West Jordan
I have been wanted for sometime to get to this Wild West playground in West Jordan. The day we went ended up being a pretty busy day with it being their Library summer kick-off to reading celebration, which meant lots and lots of people. It actually wasn't too bad.

Karlee & Mom - checking out the park.
This park was a super fun park, Rob even got in on the fun, climbing up into the playground and going down the slides with Karlee. This park reminds us of the Discovery Park in Cedar City. It was built by 6,000 volunteers in 10 days.  Super cool!

Karlee had a great time climbing through, sliding down, and exploring the park.

Love these two!
The park celebrated the heritage of the area. The covered wagons and the steam engine trains. Showing the Promitory Point (where the east coast and west coast railways met) making it an easier travel for pioneers.

After we explored all we could we found some shade and enjoyed a small picnic lunch. The day was beautiful and we loved being together as a family.

Peanut Butter and Pretzels - YUM!
Rob loves his girl - Lucky girl!
Silly Karlee girl.

Sweets Candy Factory - Summer Field Trip

Sweets for my Sweet!
So with summer comes the Stansbury Summer Field-trip Group which is always so much fun. They are usually scheduled on Wednesdays and this week's field-trip was to the Sweets Candy Factory. It is a fun place to go - walk through the factory on a guided tour. On the tour we get to try samples of the many candies that is made there but the best part of the tour is the cute blue hair net we get to wear.

Sadie, Trenton, Paige, and Karlee girl.
Karlee loved to walk through the little candy store in the front of the factory. There really is so much candy - Sweets is known for their Salt Water Taffy, Cinnamon Bears, and their  Chocolate orange sticks.

Karlee LOVED her blue hairnet.

Seven Peaks

We got the Pass of All Passes again this year so since Rob had today off we hit the water park. It was perfect! Not too many people, and because we have the passes we didn't feel obligated to stay the whole day. We enjoyed the park for a couple hours and then we packed up and headed home.  I didn't take too many pictures - actually these are the only 2 pictures I took. (I gotta do better at capturing a picture of me while we are out and about this summer.)

Rob and Karlee having SO SO Much FUN!!!!
