Kangaroo Zoo and Cody's Birthday Too.

This past Wednesday was Karlee's cousin Cody's birthday and it was held at Kangaroo Zoo. All the kids had a good time - jumping their little hearts out. There was lots of bounce equipment all over the place. Karlee loves bounce houses and so we have been to a couple places - but this was a our first time here. Turned out to be a fun place to have a birthday party.

Catching Karlee in the action!
So I tried to get a cute picture with Karlee and her two cousins (Bo and Cody) didn't think I was asking for too much of a struggle. This is was what I was able to capture. Not one of the kids had their eyes on me - oh well.  Cute kids none the less.

Not sure Karlee really has ever posed for a picture like this before. haha. But this is what I got when I asked Karlee to smile for a picture.

 Happy Birthday Cody!

Celebrating Easter

This year we stay around Stansbury Park and then decided last minute to drive up to Bear lake and spend it with Rob's family. We started the day off at the county Easter Egg hunt. This was a our first time at this hunt. They did a really good job, the hunt was divided up in age groups (3-4). The field was full of eggs, boxes of egg dye, Easter baskets, bat and balls and footballs. Karlee was pretty hesitant while waiting for the hunt to start - but after the pep talk from her dad she was ready to go.
Waiting for Easter Hunt to begin
Karlee made a haul. She got two boxes of egg dye, a carrot bat and ball, and she grabbed a pink Easter basket full of yummy treats, a little book, and a Nerf football.
Karlee with all her winning!
After the Easter egg hunt we went back home and quickly packed out bags to drive up to Bear lake. We had a great drive up and arrived just in time to participate in the traditional Easter Egg Roll. Now this is a tradition that Rob has been doing since he was a kid. They find a hill, dig out a trench (race track) for the eggs. The Easter egg roll starts out with a contest on the colored eggs - ugliest egg, most creative egg, favorite egg, most unique, etc. All the winners get prizes!
Getting ready for the Easter Egg Roll
Karlee got a prize for the most favorite egg. The prize she chose were sidewalk chalk. Rob also entered one of his painted egg and that won (can't remember what for). So he took a TMNT puzzle,
Karlee's Winnings
Once the egg contest is over everyone takes their eggs up to the top of the hill and then the egg roll begins. The first egg to get to the bottom first wins. With the kids there really wasn't one big winner - they were all winners! Karlee had so much fun.

Oh had to put in a picture of the Easter Egg Roll "Judge" - Rob. He did an amazing job. He also was the one who dug out a trench for the eggs to be rolled down. (Thought I had gotten a picture of the trench - didn't). Rob did a great job!

Easter morning came early except that Karlee didn't. She has been one tired little girl. She didn't really want to get up and look at what the Easter bunny had brought her. She got pretty lucky. Lots of candy and a Princess LeapPad game. Checking out her Easter basket was kinda overwhelming due to being super tired. Church was at 9:00 so we hurried to get ready.
"Super" Karlee checking out her basket.
After Church all the kids got their baskets and off they went on a little Easter egg hunt around the house. There were so many eggs and they all did a great job and found them all. More candy - wow! Really?! Ugh. haha.  I think that Karlee got more candy and chocolate for Easter than she did at Halloween. Glad that everyone in Rob's family loves it all - Karlee loves to share.

On the egg hunt around the bear lake house.
On our way home we stopped in at a small little park just as we exited Logan canyon. We stopped and fed the ducks some bread. Honestly don't know who enjoyed it most Karlee or Rob. There were a good mix of duck, seagulls, and Canadian Geese and looks like they enjoyed the bread.

Once all the bread was gone, even including the bread that Karlee decided to enjoy, we were back on the road headed home. We had such a fun little escape and a super fun Easter.

Happy Birthday to Me!

This weekend I was lucky to celebrate my birthday with my little family. Sunday was my birthday so we got 2 days to celebrate. Actually we started celebrating Friday night with Rob's family - we went to the Olive Garden for a birthday dinner.

With General Conference hitting this weekend we sat and listened to the Saturday morning session and then Rob, Karlee and I went into Salt Lake to run a few errands. It was really nice just to be with our little family.

We stopped at Zuppa's for lunch - which was so super yummy! Highly Recommend it. Yummy !!!!There was a ROSS nearby and I had some birthday $$ from my grandparents and store credit so we stopped in to use it up. I was able to find a bunt pan of which I have always wanted. Yay me!

Saturday night Rob had to go into work (to do Inventory) so Karlee and I went to see Mirror Mirror with Grandma Laurel, Amanda (David's finance), and Holly and her boys. Such a cute movie. Karlee did pretty good.

Sunday my Official Birthday. Karlee ran through the house yelling "It's my moms birthday and she is 37. Its my moms birthday and she is 37. - Thank you Karlee (haha). Rob made crepes for the whole house. Its sorta a tradition in my family so I was super excited for them. Many of Rob's family had never eaten crepes so this was a new thing for them. The crepes were a huge hit so much so that we forgot to take any pictures of them. We will have to remember next year.

We listened and enjoyed General Conference. I love this time of year when we get to listen to our Heavenly Fathers prophets and apostles. All the talks were so good, and the spirit that is felt is so wonderful.

What is a birthday without birthday cake? Laurel made a yummy Strawberry Shortcake birthday cake (my favorite). I had lots of little helpers blow out my candles. I had lots of phone calls from family which made my birthday perfect. It was such a fun day.
