Bear Lake "mini" Family Vacation

Beautiful Sunset at Bear Lake
We had a wonderful couple of days just with our little family up at Bear Lake. Rob had some vacation time that had to be used by the end of March or he would lose it. So we planned for a couple of days of family fun up to Bear Lake. We stayed at Rob's parents' home up there. Rob also planned a little project to do while we were there (pictures later in the post).

We love going through the Logan way because we always love to stop and walk through the Willow Park Zoo. This is such a fun small park/zoo - with lots of cute animals. Karlee always loves to feed the ducks. Then we went across the street and played a little bit at a park. Rob loved the swings!

Rob enjoying his 1st day of vacation.
We did a little shopping and had a little dinner and then headed over Logan Canyon. It was a really good way to start our mini vacation.

Mom and Karlee photo shop.
Once we got the house at Bear Lake Rob got to work on his ''little project''. As a thank you for his parents letting us live in their basement for the past year (oh what fun this has been. ugh) Rob decided that he would recover his parents master bath fireplace.

Before
Rob did an amazing job on this ''little'' project. He started removing the tile and ended up removing all the drywall. So luckily there was some left over drywall in the garage (which saved us an unplanned trip to Montpelier ID). The fireplace looks amazing!!! Check it Out!!!!

After
We really enjoyed out time up at the Bear Lake house. It was so quiet and peaceful. Once the fireplace was done we enjoyed a quick trip into Montpelier ID for some park fun. Back at the house we enjoyed watching movies, playing games, putting puzzles together, and yummy food (we bought too much and had so much that came home with us - oh well).

On our way back from our little outing we got Rob to pull over so that Karlee and I could put our feet in Bear Lake. We couldn't Rob to come down and put his feet in with us. It really was COLD, but we saw many "crazies" out there actually swimming and playing in the water. Guess we were the wimps - but come on its just MARCH!!!

We had such a fun 5 days up in Bear Lake and can't wait to go back. We actually are having the Worthen Family Reunion this summer, we can't wait to share this wonderful place with our family.

Grandma - Who made the wind?

Yesterday Karlee was outside helping her grandma and grandpa put up the trampoline in the backyard. The wind had been blowing so hard and fast all day. I think that throughout the day there were wind gusts up to 50mph. While standing outside helping, Karlee asked a simple question:

Karlee: Grandma who made the wind?
Grandma: Um well I guess Mother Nature made the wind.
Karlee: Um No Grandma it's Jesus.
Grandma: Well yeah I guess your right, it is Jesus - huh.
Karlee: (with her little index finger and pointed it up to the heavens) Now Jesus
you stop thes wind right now!!!!!

Thought this sure was cute! And it just hit me that most of her church lessons this year have been about the creation of the world. So Karlee is learning something from her Sunbeam class!

St. Patrick's Day with lots of GREEN

When did St. Patrick's Day become more than just a day wearing green? haha  I love any excuse to celebrate!!! I had a couple fun ideas of things to do to celebrate, but then got kinda lazy (since we don't live in our own place). But the little green Leprechaun came to grandma's house and left for Karlee lots of green candy and gold wrapped chocolate (Twix). Karlee's cousins were over again so they all went throughout the house to see what the kind of mess the leprechaun had made. The leprechaun had scattered lots of rainbow licorice candies. He also made a mess with green/gold glitter (of which I didn't get a picture of - but it still everywhere).

The Leprechaun left Karlee a fun Shamrock headband. The shamrocks flop all over the place. Karlee loved wearing them.  She put her green on and didn't get pinched all day. Rob's sister Sally put on a darling ''pot of gold'' tattoo on her cheek - Karlee thought that was the BEST. (totally thought I had taken a picture of it - but couldn't find one so I guess I didn't. darn it!)

For breakfast Karlee ate green french toast, strawberry milk and green ice water thanks for grandma Laurel.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Hope you didn't get PINCHED!!!!!

Snow Time 2012

Karlee LOVES the snow!
Its March and we finally had a decent snow fall. We woke up to about 6" of heavy wet snow. I was so glad that for once Karlee was feeling good enough to head out and play in the snow. Lucky girl she actually had new snow boots and snow pants. I went out to shovel the snow off the driveway and so Karlee got to spend the time playing and eating lots and lots of snow. I had to tell her a couple of times to stop eating the snow that I was shoveling (the dirty snow from the driveway). Gross!
Snow Angel Time
Karlee had fun making her snow angel, she wanted mom to join in - I gave her a rain check! When I get some snow pants I will join in. Karlee makes a GREAT snow angel.

Karlee loving the SNOW!!!!

Dr. Suess: The Lorax

The Lorax display - Just outside the Theatre
We had a fun Saturday! As a family we went into Salt Lake, did some shopping, and went to the theatre and watched Dr. Suess: The Lorax. This was a fun movie. Lots of bright colors and cute story. Rob thought I was crazy when I told him that I had never heard of the story of the Lorax. So having never read the story I really enjoyed the movie (haha). Karlee loved it.

Karlee and The Lorax Photo Shoot.

Funny thing: Karlee doesn't weigh enough to keep the movie theatre seat down, so when she sits on the seat it just folds up like no one is even there. So Karlee spent the whole time sitting on Rob's lap.
