We went with Rob to Phoenix on a work trip for 10 days. The way the days worked out he only had to go to work 5 days (with the 3 day Labor Day weekend). So what does one do when the you find yourself in Phoenix ... you stay at a nice hotel and go to the Pool EVERYDAY!
We had such nice weather! We were still getting to enjoy a Phoenix spring with temperatures from the mid 90's with a few days of hotter temps reaching the 110. The hotel pool was so nice, and we pretty much had the pool to ourselves everyday. Karlee was in heaven. We spent an average of 4 hours a day swimming.
I am not much of a reader, but I decided that with not much planned as far as entertainment I'd bring with me a book that I had borrowed from Monica and started a year ago. It was a good book. I took a picture with my phone so I could send Monica proof that I FINALLY read her book.
Karlee got pretty good at swimming and her confidence level got a little bit stronger.
When we weren't out swimming and it was a bit too HOT outside we hung out in our hotel room playing. We brought some puzzles, school core workbooks, books, games, and lots of snacks!
Since we used this as a mini family vacation Rob and Karlee enjoyed yummy ice cream in bed. Honestly these two couldn't be more a like. She LOVES her dad and Rob LOVES his little Karlee. We had a nice big room with a King size bed, a sofa-bed that Karlee slept on. Here are some cute pics of Karlee while we hung out during the day.
To break up our days after we went swimming, and had spent as much time we could in our hotel room, Karlee and I would venture out and do some shopping. There were lots of fun shops close by and lots of places to eat out. We decided to have a ''Girls Day" and have lunch at Olive Garden (one of Karlee's favorite places).
We heard a popular summer hangout was Barnes & Noble Bookstore so we went there quite a few times. Karlee LOVED this place. We sat for hours looking at and reading books. Air Condition and Free Wi-Fi makes for a fun afternoon.
