Festival of Color 2014

We did it again!!! We drove down to Spanish Fork to participate in the Annual Festival of Colors at the Radha Krishna Temple. My brother Tom was a gracious host again this year. My brother Troy provided lots of bags of color.

Here is our 'BEFORE' picture...Let the FUN begin!!!

This year I put my camera inside a Ziploc bag to protect it from all the color being thrown so many of my pictures are somewhat on the blurry/cloudy side. I think they still turned out pretty good.

Rob looking like one of the Smurfs! mmm maybe Happy Smurf?

Karlee rocking all her color. She just put her hand print on the temple of Radha Krishna.

Hard to see but we've got Jordyn, Aylia, Taylor, and me!

Visiting the New Living Planet Aquarium

We are still enjoying Karlee's Spring Break from School and decided to make the most of our time off. We were excited to have the Living Planet Aquarium open, and more excited to have season passes (thanks to Mtn Am Credit Union). Karlee and I took advantage and braved the opening weekend.

The Aquarium has a Shark Tunnel where the fish swim all over you. Karlee LOVED this place.

We went up into the Penguin Exhibit (My personal favorite).

Off to the South America Exhibit

They didn't have many of their animals in the exhibits yet so we went upstairs to the Swing Bridge. Karlee loved this bridge and went across it several times before we were done.

To end our fun day Karlee and I went to Zupas. One of our favorites! I love this girlie, she is such a sweetheart!

Spring Break in Logan

For Karlee's Spring Break we didn't plan much, since Rob was still planning on working. However Rob was sent to Logan for work, so we got invited to come up for a couple of days and share his hotel room. We stopped on our way  up at the Brigham City temple. It was beautiful.

When we got to Logan we decided to go to the Willow Park Zoo. We've gone a few times in the past and have really enjoyed the nice weather and all the different animals. This time however was very disappointing as many of the animals are gone, and the cost of the park had gone up. Oh Well!

Karlee was still able to feed the ducks so she loved that.

Karlee enjoying the Willow Park Zoo on a much smaller scale.

After the Willow Park Zoo we walked across the road to a playground to let Karlee play for a bit. We hit a couple more parks while we waited for Rob to get done from work.

So excited to have dad come home (to the hotel) from work!

Karlee enjoying her hoped for Chocolate muffin at the Hotel's breakfast.

While we were at the Logan temple we decided to play I Spy. Here are a couple of the things we 'I spied':

Karlee's Photo Shoot!!!

Back in January Karlee was asked by her aunt Amanda (David's wife) if she would like to participate in a photo shoot for her employer - rstOUTDOOR. Amanda's company makes and sells furniture (outdoor, garage, etc.) and they are starting a new Kids Furniture line. They needed models for pictures for their online catalog. Karlee thought this would be fun so we accepted the offer.

We drove into SLC for the photo shoot. She was selected to model the Frog bedroom furniture. Karlee is pretty shy by nature when she first meets someone or a new environment, so she was a little stiff when they started. She quickly relaxed and by the end of it all she said she was having a super fun time!

The furniture is pretty cute, its designed as a lock and groove system. The frog bedroom set is pretty cute.

We were asked to not post anything online until they had time to edit and proof all the pictures. Amanda sent us a text today and told us that they had posted the furniture and that Karlee was on a Sale Banner, so Karlee and I got online and there she was. We saved the image onto our own computer. Good thing because her picture isn't on their online catalog - oh well. haha. Karlee thought that was pretty cool to see pictures of her photo shoot.

Here is the Sale Banner:

Best part for Karlee is that she actually got paid for this photo shoot. Karlee was pretty excited. Actually when I handed her the check ($50.00) they had sent her I told her that she got $$ for doing the photo shoot. Karlee looked at the check and said, "Um mom where's the $$? This is just paper." haha.  She didn't really get it. ☺ I told her she could buy something with this money - She hasn't decided yet what to get.

Luck of the Leprechaun

Karlee has been really looking forward to St. Patrick's Day or as she refers to the day as "Green Day". She has been planning on what she was gonna wear from her shirt to her shoes. Silly girl!

The day started off somewhat in a little frustration for Karlee. She saw that the Leprechaun had come to our house and left her lots of 'Gold Coins' and a Disney Fairy book (maybe a little over-kill. haha). The Leprechaun had left the family a bag of Green Jungle Animal cookies (yummy). While Karlee was thrilled with the treasures that had been left, she was determined to find the sneaky Leprechaun. She looked ALL over the house and getting more and more frustrated. She ultimately gave up the search. ☺

For breakfast we had green pancakes, and Karlee decided that she wasn't hungry. Even though I told her that the color didn't change the taste of the pancakes. She did give in and tried a couple bites and said that they definitely tasted different. haha. Oh well! Who knows what next year will bring, but it really did turn out to be a fun day - nothing to extreme. We sure do love celebrating these special days.

Karlee gave her teacher Mrs. Hyre a little St. Patrick's treat to celebrate the special day and mostly to say Thank You for being such a great teacher.

I wanted to add the little handout I made to give to our Primary class. The tag says: "You're my POT O'GOLD at the end of the rainbow".

Spring Soccer

It's that time of year again, time for Spring Soccer! Karlee is really loving this sport. She tries really hard and always does her best. She is still on the same team from the Fall, with most of the same teammates. Kate Haymond (friend) is now on her team, so that makes both of them very excited.

Karlee is really trying to do her best.

This made me smile!

What's in your bag?

As I was cleaning up around the house, I found Karlee's little bag, what made me smile was when I opened it up to see all her treasures. It was pretty cute - I took a picture. It made me think of how much Karlee is paying attention to these days. She had a notebook, hair accessory, a little bling, a toy, and to complete it all she had her phone (from her play kitchen).

Stansbury High Stallionette Dance Camp

Karlee got to enjoy a local dance camp (drill team fundraiser) at Stansbury High. Karlee had so much fun going to all the practices and then was super excited to go perform her learned routine. She loved the shirt that they gave her to wear for the dance - not hard to see why, right!

Karlee was super excited to see her cousin Bo (and family) come to support and watch her dance.

Karlee did Amazing!!! Love this girl!!!!

I was so glad that Karlee did such a good job, and surprised that she didn't get stage fright. I made her a Kit Kat bouquet just to show her how much we love her and are so proud of her.

After the performance we stayed and watched much of the High School Stallionette's dances. When we got home we had Grandma Laurel, Holly, Sally, Bo, and Cody for some ice cream and cookies.
