Gymnastics

(These pictures are from Rob's phone so they are pretty grainy)
Karlee got to take a 4 week gymnastic class. We got a Goupon deal and thought it would be a good way to introduce her to a new sport. The gym was located in Sandy so driving was part of the pkg deal. She loved it!

Karlee did lots of stretching, and then it was time to start to learn the apparatuses. She worked on the balance beam, bars, and  the jumping pit. She worked on learning a basic cartwheel (still learning - but its much better), somersault, and backbends.

After doing the bars, Karlee would tell me that her arms hurt, but it was just because "Her muscles (lack there of) were growing". haha

Love this picture of her as she finished crossing the balance beam.

Karlee had so much fun, and her teachers said she has the body to be a gymnast so we'll see.

Rob's New Church Calling

Rob was called as the newest 1st counselor in our bishopric in our wards (Picket Lane ward). This has been such a crazy, faith building week. Rob is very humble to have been called to such a calling.

Rob asked for my dad, and my grandpa to come be there as he was made a High Priest.

Karlee's Tooth Fairy came

Look who lost a tooth!!! Karlee has been living with a loose tooth for the past couple of weeks now. In fact her permanent tooth had already grown in behind it. She came home from her first day of school saying that her tooth wasn't bothering her anymore - Great!. When we got done reading books before bed she showed me how much she could bend the tooth, I thought well we'll try one more time to pull it out. I went and got a folded tissue, placed it over the tooth, and then pulled up. The tooth came out with ease and no pain. Karlee was so excited that now her Tooth Fairy was gonna come.

Mom wanted to take a picture of her 1st lost baby tooth (Karlee thought I was weird)

In the morning Karlee was so excited to see that in the same bag that she left her tooth was 2 gold coins (Gold Doubloons). She was really excited and started checking all her other teeth.

1st Grade - WHAT?!@?

School came so quick again! Karlee is going into the 1st grade this year and she is excited.

We did our "traditional 1st day of school pictures" before school. She is growing up so quickly for me at least.

This year she will be ALL-DAY so she gets to take her own lunch to school. She was excited that she got to school shop for a lunchbox to put her lunch in. She picked out a Monster High lunch box.

This is what wanted in her lunch for the 1st day: water, popcorn, butterfly peanut butter sandwich and a treat. I added in a little love note from mom!

Mrs. Drake (1st grade)

Karlee found her desk, her bucket of school supplies and was even more excited! She has some of her Kindergarten friends in her class and lots of new kids to meet. Karlee is gonna do Great!

Off she goes.... She is really excited so it makes the hurt of watching her grow up a little easier. I will definately miss her during my days at home.

Grandma's 80th Celebration

This year the annual Jenkins's pool party was a combined 80th birthday for my Grandma Jenkins and a pool party. There was yummy food and a sweet program with tributes by her 5 children.

These cakes were AMAZING made by Janet.

All the Great-Grandchildren sang a beautiful Primary song and each one handed her a flower.

Then it was time for swimming. Everyone had a good time and got lots of swimming in.

We had a fun time hanging out - talking about school shopping.haha

The older kids talked Rob into going off the diving board. He is so loved by all those kids!!!!

Timpanogos Hike 2014

Mt. Timpanogos 2014

Mt. Timpanogos is an annual hike for my dad and I. We have learned to plan this hike in the month of August for better odds of good weather. I have hiking with my dad! He is such an Amazing example to me. We had invited some of the grand kids to come with us, but scheduling issues came up and so it was just my dad and I.

I love hiking with my dad - its my one on one time with him that I don't get much anymore. We have a good time talking about life, our trials, our dreams and goals. Its also a treat to hear about his childhood and the life that he has lived. Some of the stories he would tell me, he would say "Ya know what, Heather, I haven't thought about that experience for a really long time, thank you for letting me remember that".  I love him so much and am so blessed to have been raised by such an amazing man!

Timpanogos again surprised us with changing weather. We could see that at the top it was covered in clouds, but figured it would burn off with the days sunlight. As we reached almost half-way we got pelted with hail, strong wind, and then rain. It was then that we decided that we'd call it and head back down the trail.

Here we are sporting our rain gear.

Lucky I kept this unused poncho in my Camelbak for the past 10+ years, it finally came in handy.

On our way down the sun came out and the weather turned beautiful - of course it did! My dad found a fresh spring and took advantage of the cold water. Just another reason why hiking with my dad is so much fun, the knowledge he has about life and nature is in measurable.

There is just something so beautiful about being just 20 minutes away from the busy city enjoying the silence and power of God's creations.

Some random pics of our Timpanogos hike.

Our 14th Anniversary

Happy #14th Anniversary to us! Rob took the day off and so we enjoyed being together. We didn't have anything BIG planned which made for a relaxing day. Karlee came along for the day.

We went to some of our favorite places starting at Costco, then to Target. Spending time together was really just the best part of the day.

At Target I went off to do some school shopping, leaving Rob and Karlee in the toy section. A little while later I could hear them playing over in the Bedding section. This picture is what I found them doing. They were fighting each other with these character pillows. Haha. Yep Karlee has the BEST dad and I married the BIGGEST kid!

We decided for dinner we'd go to Joe's Crap Shack. This was the first time for us, and we were pleased with our choice. Karlee had so much fun - only because they had a playground inside the restaurant.

Happy Anniversary!!!

Papa's Campout

This picture says it all!!!

Every year the guys in the Worthen family have a guys weekend - Papa's Camp Out! They all go to Panguitch lake and camp out. They do all things "guy" like target practice, marshmallow wars, campfires, and a little fishing. It was said that everyone was looking forward to Rob getting there. Yep Rob is totally Loved by all.

Rob said that the highlight was the marshmallow wars. He said that since this was his first year going he said he didn't really have an idea of what expect, but he had a great time!

These guys have too much fun together.

Trenton (9), Teni (9), Austin (10)

Time for some fishing!!! So Rob took Karlee's fishing pole (since its so small) and it wasn't gonna take too much room in the car. He got teased so much about it, but guess who got the first fish of the day....huh... yep, Rob!!!

Love this picture of Rob!!!
