Splish-Splash Time

When we went to California in February we picked up Karlee a new swimsuit for the summer. The weather in CA wasn't necessarily swimming weather so Karlee didn't get to break-in her new suit. This week however with being voluntarily home bound (due to this horribly COLD COLD weather) Karlee decided it was time to break-in the new swim suit. She had a BLAST in the bathtub and spent probably an hour splish-splashing in the tub.

Can't wait for the Summer time!

Grandma's Birthday Weekend

This was a wonderful weekend and for a very wonderful reason... My mom's 60th birthday. It was a lot of fun. We started off the day with Papa making crepes (a Worthen birthday tradition) - Super Yummy!

Karlee loves birthday and what kid doesn't right? She couldn't wait to give her grandma her present. A cookbook! Yay!

All the kids gave grandma their birthday hugs and kisses.

My sister, Monica, had a great ideas of a surprise party for my mom. She made everything so awesome. She invited so many wonderful friends of my mom come help celebrate. My mom didn't have a clue and was super surprised.

I love my mom!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

We ended our day with a yummy dinner of Pot-stickers, and Asian Lettuce wraps - a request from the birthday girl.

Weekend in Page, AZ

We had a wonderful weekend in Page. We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday. The weather was beautiful and was a much needed break from all the cold that we have been having back home. Our first day we headed down to the 'white house' a well known Colorado river, Glen Canyon Dam lookout. This was a first time for Karlee and she loved it. Actually she was more interested in playing in the red sand and she decided to do a Sand Angel.

Karlee making a Sand Angel - Silly girl.

The day would not have been complete with a couple Geo Caches. The kids had so much fun. Karlee had a great time doing the Geo Caches. Funny story was when the kids found the first Geo Cache - Karlee took a puzzle piece for her prize. We got in the car and Karlee said we needed to find the next puzzle piece at the next Geo Cache. - Cute but um not exactly. haha.

Karlee was able to find the Geo Cache (thanks Paige).

We spent lots of time outdoors this weekend, because it was Amazingly beautiful. Loved going for walks down off the cliffs - our childhood playground. We were so lucky to have such amazing beautiful places to spend our summer time.

One day Papa and Monica took the kids to Slick Rock (one of my favorite places as a kid to go and play).

There was plenty of time hanging out at home, which is one of my most favorite things to do when I go home. I just love love going home!

My mom made some super super yummy bread - that I haven't made yet - but totally have to do it.

Be My Valentine!

We love Valentines Day around here at our house. However its been kinda lost in the busyness of our lives so we didn't get our decorations out - I was pretty much a LAME mom this year -maybe next year! ☺

Karlee had a super fun Valentine's party at school and I was able to go and help out. I just love helping with Karlee's school activities. We got busy the day before putting her valentines together to give out to her friends and to Miss Lindsay.

This girl loves the Sweets!!!
Everyone enjoying their yummy cupcakes from Hobbes mom Miss Roslynn
Playing games.
This is what we came up with for her friends: "Bubbles" and for Miss Lindsay we found a dish and put Hershey Hugs and Kisses in it with a tag that said something like: "Love you as my teacher Hugs and Kisses Karlee" (totally forgot to take a picture of her little gift).

Blowing Valentine kisses your way... Karlee. Happy Valentine's Day

Karlee with her Valentine treat bag - decorated at school.
Handing out her Valentines to her friends.
After school on Valentines day we got to have Sadie come over and play. I had made cupcakes for the girls to decorate. Oh how I love that Karlee has a cousin so close to play with, wish we lived closer to her other cousins so we could get all the girls here playing and decorating - wouldn't that just be so much fun!

Sadie and Karlee - So Sweet!
Karlee got some valentines on Valentines day as well. She got from her dad a book of Disney Cars Bedtime stories. Trying to get a picture of this girl and all she wanted to do was make a silly face so we'll take it.  Such a cutie!!!

Karlee ready for bed with her Superman shirt and her new bedtime storybook.
Karlee's grandmas didn't forget her either this year. From Grandma Chris she got a super creative (more than what I could come up with) valentine. And from Grandma Laurel she got a Hello Kitty container of jelly beans. Two Yummy treats indeed!

Disneyland {day 4}

Our last day at the "Happiest Place on Earth" and we were ready to hit it all. This was our longest day of all four of them - we really pack it all in. We took advantage of Disneyland's Magic hour and went over to Disney California Adventure park - No crowds as they were all over in Disneyland. It was perfect!!!

Rob was able to ride the California Screemin' roller coaster 3x straight (he didn't even have to get out of his seat, they just let him stay on. haha) While Rob was on the roller coaster Karlee and I went and hit Toy Story Midway Mania and got to ride that 2x. When we met up with Rob we rode Mickey's Fun Wheel (Karlee's request). We had a fun first hour in the park. We rode more rides over in Radiator Springs.

We headed back over to Disneyland to finish up our rides over there. We got to meet Merida and her little 'brother' bears from BRAVE. Karlee was very concerned and asked Merida when her brothers were going to turn back from bear to boys. haha.

Merida and Karlee
We rode the Disneyland Railroad and the Monorail around the park which were both a lot of fun.  Our day was a lot of fun not feeling too much pressure to get on too many rides because we had already been on most of them. We rode the infamous Matterhorn and then went to watch the Jedi Training Academy. Karlee got a picture with Genie and Aladdin - Pretty cute!

We enjoyed some Dole Whips and watched the Enchanted Tiki Room. I think we all enjoyed the Dole Whips a whole lot more than the birds in the Tiki room. haha. It was a nice break so for that it wasn't a complete waste of time. haha

Rob and Karlee enjoy a yummy Dole Whip.
We had done most everything on the one side of Disneyland except The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. We were glad that we made our way over there. It was a cute little area and Karlee loved it. We went of the Pooh ride, and then walked over and got pictures of Pooh, Tiger, and Rabbit.

Pooh and our family.
Rob surprised us with some yummy Disney frozen treats. Karlee and Rob enjoyed Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Sandwiches and I enjoyed a frozen Strawberry Fruit bar. Lucky us.

Karlee LOVED her treat!
Rob loved his treat!!! Yummy!!!
We went back over to Disney California Adventure for the rest of the night. We enjoyed a yummy Mexican food dinner (burrito & fajita salad). Then we went over and found a spot to watch the water and light show: World of Color.

World of Color was amazing!!! The music and the amazing light show - So glad that we didn't miss this.

Before we headed back to our hotel we made one last stop for a Disney souvenir from RideMakerz - Build Your Ride. This place is like Build-a-Bear store but instead of bears its cars and trucks (creative concept) Rob picked a Mater truck to build. Karlee had fun helping, but I honestly I think Rob was having the time of his life. He picked out the tires, rims, voice box and then put it all together. This place had everything to pimp your ride. haha.

Karlee and Rob with the finished product!
Disneyland was Amazing!!! We had so much fun and can't to plan another trip. We loved every day!!!

Disneyland {day 3}

Our 3rd day of being at Disneyland was a little bit chilly and rainy, luckily this didn't put a damper on all the Magic. The weather actually made the park a little less crowded and again the lines to all the rides were a short wait if, no wait at all. We didn't get wet which probably made for a little happier experience too. haha.

Karlee got her Mickey Minnie Mouse ears today. She wore the hat for about 15 minutes and then was done. haha. We did get her to wear them off and on throughout the day. Count that as her first Disneyland souvenir. ☺
Happy as can be!!!
The famous tea cups were under construction so this is as close to being on the ride as we could get. Both Rob and Karlee was bummed - me not so much as I planned on passing this crazy spinning ride. While over in Fantasyland we hit Peter Pan's Flight, Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toads Wild Ride, and the Snow White's Scary Adventure.

We'll catch the Tea Cups next time.
We rode the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride and Karlee loved every bit of it. On this ride you get to help Buzz defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg. She was a pretty good shot.

She found the smashed Penny machine. This was her first smashed Penny. I think she got 4 of them while we were at Disneyland.

Look at these two cuties standing in line for a ride. Karlee did awesome in the lines - Never once complained about the wait. Now walking, now that's a different story. haha. Luckily we borrowed my brother's stroller which saved all of us.

Two peas in a pod!
More of the rides we hit today were Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, Space Mountain, and Astro Orbitor.

Up Up and Away - Astro Orbitors
After a yummy homemade lunch we got in line for Autopia (gas powered cars). We didn't know how much fun this ride would be. I don't think Rob and I laughed harder that day. Karlee was our driver. She was a little inexperience to say the least. haha. Rob and I were laughing at how crazy she was driving, and she would yell at us - telling us to stop laughing so she could concentrate on driving. Oh the moment just cannot be recreated. Too funny!!!

Just look at her intensity. haha
We went to the Star Wars Jedi training and due to the rain it didn't happen so we took advantage of a photo op with both the Dark-side and some of the Padawans.

Darth Vader and Storm Troopers
Karlee and Padawan trainers
Darth Maul and family photo.
Rapunzel was a bit of a wait, but Karlee thought it was worth it. She loved going inside her room and seeing all of Rapunzel's drawings. Rob was such a good sport waiting in line to meet all the princesses that we did this week. Look at all the memories that we made and captured to look back on later.

Karlee and Rapunzel (lucky girl)
We had such a good day and left the park sad that we only had one more day to enjoy all that Disneyland and California Adventure had to offer. We went home and rested up so we could make the most of our last day.
