Bring on the Sunshine

These past couple of days we have been enjoying 60º weather. Friday was 63º so we decided to hit the park. We thought Karlee would love getting outside. There are some really fun parks nearby so we had a good time. Its been awhile since we have been able to get Karlee out to the parks. Karlee wasn't a big fan of the swings, she would just sit in the swing and her whole body would shake with fear, so we didn't spend too much time on the swings. She did love other parts of the park, so we all had a really good time.

Rub a dub dub...
Our little Karlee in the tub!
We had a fun morning in the bathtub. Karlee loves to take baths, and loves playing in the water. We haven't taken too many pics because I usually am the only one home, but since Rob was home while she was taking her bath, we got our chance to document our little stinker.

Valentines Day & New Church Calling

Okay so the title isn't necessarily related, just trying to kill two posts with one.

Valentines Day was a normal day as anything around these parts, however I tried something new this year. I made Rob chocolate dipped strawberries, which turned out pretty darn good, and they weren't as big of a job as I thought that they would have been. I took a picture of them, but my camera is not working well, so I have borrowed a photo off the Internet. (Thank you) Rob loves chocolate, and I so I knew this would be a winner. With my chocolate dipped strawberries, I rolled some of them in miniature chocolate chips, and some in Oreo cookie crumbs.

New Church Calling!

We are new Sunbeam teachers. This is the first time Rob and I have ever had a calling in the Primary. In our ward we have about 40 sunbeam aged children, so we have about 10 in each class. Today we only had 3 out of the 10 so that was a nice was to start. Our class went okay for the first day, but still I totally feel like a fish out of water. Rob was amazing. He is so good with these kids. Hopefully in time I will get the gist of this. Our lesson was "Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ loves me!" perfect for Valentines day just being yesterday. So last night I made these delicious treats. Chocolate covered Rice Krispie Heart suckers. (I had to use the rest of the chocolate from the strawberries) These turned out pretty darn cute, don't ya think. Rob says they taste amazing -

Happy 1st Birthday Karlee

Karlee turned 1 on Saturday, February 7th. We had a wonderful day. Our family came to help celebrate, which made for a very special day. Thanks to Grandma and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa Weston, Holly and her two adorable boys: Cody and Bo Daniel. We had pizza, chocolate cake, and ice cream. Which was all so delicious. Karlee got some super fun toys. She had a good time unwrapping the boxes, and loved playing with the paper. Then it was time for cake. Karlee did pretty good with making a mess with her very own cake.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful toys, the many thoughtful cards.

Thank You Staples.com

Can my day get any better than this... Yesterday I went online and made a purchase on Staples.com. My purchase was (unfortunately for my wallet) more than $50, so I went online to see if there were any online coupons. What I found was so much fun. On http://www.retailmenot.com/ I found a coupon for a FREE box of 100 blowpop suckers, I was already getting free shipping so this only sweetened the deal. So I put the blowpop suckers in my shopping cart, and then put in the code for the suckers when I checked out. The estimated shipping time was 2-3 days, but I just got a knock on my door this morning and Staples hand delivered my pkg to me. Thank you Staples and Thank you Retailmenot.com !!!!
.
Not sure honestly what I will do with all these suckers, but hey they were a gift (FREE). Is Halloween too far away?
.
Here is the site if any of you need to make a purchase of $50 or more at Staples.

Deals Deals Deals

Only spent $10.36 (saved 104.64)

Okay so its been awhile since I have posted anything about my coupon shopping experiences. Partly cause I think its funny when I display all my purchases on the table and take a picture. But I thought what I might try and do is to post a picture of my great deals on the side of my blog. This week, Albertsons has '4-double your coupon' coupons in their ad. I got some pretty good deals. Everything in the photo I did in 5 different transactions and after adding all I spent it came out to be $10.36 for all of it. I was pretty happy with this, because the chicken alone was $10.00, so I did okay. Most all my coupons were $1.00 so doubled they were $2, and then with the store sales it worked out pretty good for me.

It all breaks down as follows:
6 L'Oreal Kid Shampoo (Free)
2 bags of green salad (Free)
1 Tyson frozen chicken breast (3.00)
8 pkgs Juicy Juice box sets (3.96)
2 Healthy Choice dinners (Free)
4 Crest toothpaste (Free)
4 Dixie Napkins 200 ct (Free)
1 Pam cooking spray (1.00)
1 Kraft mini marshmallow - not pictured (Free)
1 m&m's (gift for rob) - not pictured (.31)
Taxes paid = (2.09)

Rugby anyone?

On Saturday Karlee and I headed off to watch Caleb (my cousin) play in a College Rugby Tournament. Caleb is attending Snow college and was playing on the schools rugby team. I personally had never been to a rugby game and had only watched probably 5 minutes of a game my entire life. So we were pretty excited to go. We got there just as the game had started, and let me just say that Rugby has to be one of the toughest games played. Players were pulling arms/legs, and stepping on other players heads. Whew! This game is intense! Caleb did a good job, after the game we met up and got to catch up on each others lives. Karlee was quite taken with Caleb, and wanted hims to hold her much of the time. Caleb told me that he had been recruited just about a week ago and that he had never played the game before. He told me that he was flattered about being recruited, however it also put the pressure on to fill the spot. The day was so beautiful, and Karlee was loving being outside and in the warm weather. Rob was bumbed that he wasn't able to go (he was home sleeping), but we showed him the pictures. Rob played rugby while in highschool, so he was able to tell me what was actually happening in the pictures that we took.
Here they are in all their glory - I don't think the people of ESPN will be contacting me anytime to take photos at their sporting events, oh well.
