Every year my grandparents put on a Large Large Family pool and pizza night. It is some thing that we all look forward to attending. This year it was held on a Saturday night, so Rob was able to go. For the last couple times Rob has been busy with work, and school. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Jenkins

My brother and sister-in-law were expecting their fourth baby in September, but due to some complications my sister-in-law Segi had to be admitted to the hospital and was put on hospital bed rest. I was lucky enough to be asked by my brother to come and take care of his kids so he could go to work and take care of things. I jumped at the chance! Karlee and I were able to go to their home in Spanish Fork for a couple days. While there Karlee had so much fun, she was able to play with her cousins: Jordyn, Alyia, and Teni (of whom was always away playing at friends so no pictures of him).

The weather was beautiful and so it was time to pull out the sprinklers, and get WET. They had so much fun. Alyia is quite the diva, and she said to me: Heather - Am I so beautiful? Yes, Alyia you are so beautiful. Yeah! I know!

On Wednesday July 27th baby Lincoln came into the world. He was 34 weeks old. He weighed 7lbs (will need to update all the details later). But because he was was early he had to go to the NICU. My brother and I were able to take all the kids up to the hospital to see their mom and to meet their new baby brother.

My parents had just flew in from Alaska Wednesday morning so they drove down from Salt Lake and were able to stay a couple days with my brothers family and Karlee and I drove home. We had so much fun, and are so excited to have Lincoln come to our family!

Mom, I have bones in my body!

Over the summer Karlee has watched a cute little show called Bubble Guppies. A really cute show. The episode she was watching was teaching children that they have a body made of bones. I has half-way listening, Karlee looked at me and asked: Mom, Do I have bones in my body? Yes Karlee you do have bones in your body. It was cute to just sit and watch her watch the show, and then look down at her arm, then her leg, then her hands, etc....

A couple days later she had a Dr appointment (just a well check). While at the appointment I talked to her Dr about Karlee's knees, and how she sometimes complains that her knees hurt her. He advised us to get X-Rays done so know for sure if anything could be wrong or if she was just experiencing 'growing pains'. I was a bit nervous about how Karlee would do with laying still and getting x-rays taken. Karlee was a Champ! She was so excited to get to see 'pictures' of her bones. I guess it paid off that she was watching that cute little Bubble Guppies show.haha.

Hiking the Y

On the fourth of July I met up with my family and we all hiked up to the Y (BYU - Y mountain). I wont even begin to count how many times we have passed by the 'Y' mountain, and I have never thought to hike up to it. So when the chance to hike it came, I jumped at the chance. It was a lot of fun. Many members of my family hiked up. Rob (who bleeds blue) did not hike up with us - but opted to hang out with Karlee. Lets just say he doesn't like to hike as much as I do. Never having hiked it before I was unaware of what to expect. The trail was steep with lots of switchbacks.

This next picture has such a story behind it. This is my brother Troy and his little girl Alyia. About 10 feet into the hike, Alyia sat down and cried that she was tired and that she was done. So Troy carried her on his shoulders most if not the whole way up to the top. She would cry when he would tell her that he wasn't going to carry her anymore and then you would see Alyia on his shoulders a little later. What a good little hiker!. Troy said that he will not invite her again.haha.

History of the Y: The Y first appeared on Provo's Mountains in 1906. The Y is 380 feet high and 130 feet wide, covering 32,847 square feet and is one of the largest school emblems of its kind in the United States.

This is the place.... all in a day!

Karlee and I went along with my sister Monica and her kids on a Summer Field Trip to This is the Place Park. What a fun place to go and one that I can now check off my list of places to see. What an impressive place this is. It sits up in the Utah mountains (up next to Hogle Zoo). The weather was perfect and we even got surprised in the afternoon with a quick Summer rain storm. This park had so many fun things to do and many things to learn about the early pioneers who came to the Salt Lake Valley. We started off with a trolley ride around the park. One of our first stops was to pan for gold.

Karlee loved this, and as you can see really got into it with losing the flip flops.

The kids got to ride a little train around a pond full of swans. Karlee loved this.

Another stop while in the park was at a home where the kids got to help do "chores". Karlee got to wash a cleaning rag, and then help hang up the clean rag to dry over on the clothes line.

After lunch and a quick summer rain storm we headed over to the petting farm, and the horse rides. Karlee could not wait to get to the horses. She LOVES horses. She got to go on 2 rides.

Dinorsaurs Park Adventure

When Rob gets to have a Monday off, we try and take advantage of it. This time we decided to go and check out Dinosaurs Park in Ogden. It was something that we had heard of, but never thought of making the trip. We loved the park. The park is nestled up near the entrance to Ogden Canyon. We had beautiful weather which made for a super fun day. We would recommend it to everyone - it was super super fun!!

At the entrance of the park there is a small museum inside, so we checked it out. Karlee wasn't too impressed, which had both Rob and I a little bummed as we hadn't even got to see the park yet. Inside the museum there is a part of that has robotic-operated dinosaurs that were amazing, but Karlee got pretty freaked out.

The majority of the park is outside - there are dinosaurs replicas all around the park. We walked along a paved path to all the dinosaurs. We decided to dust off our stroller and take it with us, with not knowing what to expect. Glad we did, cause Karlee has decided that she doesn't like to walk, and Rob just didn't want to carry her around. The dinosaurs were amazing!!!

Rob has such an amazing sense of humor. Here he is almost to get eaten by the 20ft high, 45ft long Tyrannosaurus Rex. People were watching him (laughing) as I took the picture, then as we walked off we noticed that they were taking pictures doing the same thing. haha

We took a break to eat lunch, after we took Karlee over to the children's-land. They had dinosaurs that you can climb in and on, swings and slides! Karlee was in heaven, and it was a nice little break for her.
