Summer Group Highlights

This summer I was asked to take part in a kids summer group with a few mom's in our ward. I figured Karlee would have fun getting to know more kids in the ward. The challenge was then on to plan fun and entertaining activities for 12-14 kids (daunting task. haha). It was fun planning the activities, and then watching them crumble when all the kids showed up - not really - but it did keep me on my toes. ☺. I planned 3 activities for the kids to do. I took pictures of the kids and the activities we did.

Activity 1 - Animals

I wasn't real sure what to expect, but overall it was manageable. The group consisted of 9 kids out of 12. There definitely was moments of insanity - but such is an activity with this many 3-6 year olds. haha.  The kids made Animal face masks - they colored them and then we played "Who am I?". The kids all seemed to have fun with that game. We ate animal crackers (yummy).

Activity 2 - 4th of July Paper Lanterns

For this week we were so close to celebrating the 4th of July that I decided that making a paper craft would be something fun to do. All the kids had a good time and made a cute little craft to take home. The day was super super hot so we

Activity 3 - Kool-aide playdough

This was our last 'official' kids group of the summer, and so I thought it could be fun to let the kids play and create with playdough. I laminated a page with numbers that the kids colored and then once laminated they got to trace the letters with playdough. The kids had so much fun, and when they went home they each took home some fun playdough and their colored page.
